Let’s Hygge: Blonde Army

Strap yourselves in Hygge babes, we’ve got a real treat for you today. Not only are we sharing the latest entry on our ‘Let’s Hygge’ approved business list – but also, that very same business are sharing a Hygge themed wedding shoot with us. I know, there aren’t enough heart eye emojis in the world, so let’s just get down to biz & meet Lianne from Blonde Army.

I knew this lady was a true powerhouse the moment we connected, especially because within about an hour of hooking up on Insta she had sent me photos of the following:

  1. A Fuck Yes cake topper
  2. A glorious caramel drip cake (I can’t say it enough, cake is life)
  3. A photo of a bride dressed in a jacket made by my FAVE gals Back Chat Designs
  4. A Hygge styled wedding shoot.

SAY WHUT! I needed to know more about this femme who was obviously trying to steal my heart all up in the place.

Lianne Tucker is the Brains behind the company Blonde Army – and their motto is ‘Planning Is Our Weapon.’ Fierce.

Lianne trained as an actress, and still does acting, dancing and modelling. But – as is so often the case in the glam world of showbiz – she also took on another job freelancing in event management alongside her acting career.

After working in event management for almost a decade, Lianne realised the two career paths were more complimentary and interlinked than she had previously believed.

So, after 3 months finding headspace, perspective and inspiration while travelling – Lianne returned to the UK and decided to set up her own company, Blonde Army.

Blonde Army is a Wedding Planning service with a difference. It aims to appeal to the every day bride (we’ve all seen the film The Wedding Planner – the budgets are eye watering, but it doesn’t need to be like that anymore!)

B.A pride themselves on affordable price points and a mentoring service for brides, to help them feel less stressed and actually (shock horror!) enjoy planning their wedding.

Lianne says some of the inspiration for the business came from her own friends who appeared more concerned with what others would think of their weddings, or did things simply because ‘that’s what you do’. Her ethos is to assure people they can do whatever they want for their wedding day. There is no rule book, no traditions we HAVE to follow, it should be more about inspiring couples to have the confidence to put themselves first, and create a wedding that is a reflection of their relationship and story. Lianne takes her mantra from Marilyn Monroe – being normal is boring – there is no normal so let’s explore your truth, authenticity and your story as a couple.

Right on Sister!

2018 is the year of making dreams a reality – both for Lianne and her clients, she wants to take Blonde Army to the next level, helping others and making them happy on the daily. She wants to know Blonde Army is truly making a difference either through the inspirational Instagram, blogs, You Tube or in person.

She also wants to expand her already growing client base – though she lives in London, Lianne enjoys travelling anywhere and everywhere to make bridal dreams come true – she’s already set up bases in Manchester, The Lake District and York – and the rest of the world is her next goal.  #NoBoundaries.

It’s pretty clear that Ms Tucker is super passionate about her work – and surely that’s what any bride would want for their day – someone who lives and breathes weddings, planning, maintaining a strong reputation for their brand, and a whole lotta love for the couples involved.

Inevitably though, this means Lianne is 24/7 go getter. She is equipped with all the patience, persistence and passion to make her biz dreams come true – no matter how long it takes. Her key tips for success are listening, learning and networking.

So, a typical day for Lianne would involve getting up early & having a good breakfast before getting down to social media planning and networking, answering emails and any outstanding planning and co-ordinating.

We love how Lianne makes time every day for some exercise outside and regular meals – a well balanced lifestyle makes for a well balanced business in our opinion!

Afternoons are spent either visiting venues, meeting couples, workshops, gathering inspiration from shows, curating mood boards, filming for the You Tube channel or researching the next big trend in business.

Lianne loves the variety of clients and events she works with. She began her events career setting up DJ booths and adult bouncy castles, before moving into VIP corporate events. Her weddings have included hotels, barns and marquees – there is no norm! And her fave clients are simply those who really just want to express themselves and allow her to think outside the box!

Lianne says she is in love with the concept of Hygge (Yay!) The fact that it promotes simplicity and happiness is really in keeping with her brand ethos, and she believes Hygge provides a good foundation for any wedding – and so uses it often in her design and planning process.
If you think about the definitions surrounding the word:

‘Creating a feeling of warmth, a ritual of enjoying life’s simple pleasures. Friends. Family. Graciousness.’

Surely that’s what a wedding is about. Not all the fuss that is often created and curated.  Lianne hopes to inspire couples to plan from the heart and from their journey together.
She says it is people who inspire her to carry out her work, as she believes we really are stronger together and the least expected people can be doing extraordinary things. Perception can be very deceiving.
With this in mind, Lianne has been kind enough to share with us some shots from a recently styled shoot – entitled Head Over Heels In Hygge. All credits are below.
